Diamonds are a Guitar Nut’s Best Friend
With Music Nomad’s New Nut Files

September 16, 2020 Sonoma, CA Music Nomad Equipment Care www.MusicNomadCare.com WARNING: These files cut really well! Music Nomad’s patent pending Nut Files feature a revolutionary diamond coating & round “string-shape” blade design resulting in smooth, precision cuts.

“In our research, we found two issues with existing files. They were either inexpensive and poor quality or expensive and good quality with some limitations. So we decided to make a file that was the best quality but below the price of existing expensive files in the marketplace,” says Rand Rognlien, product designer and CEO of Music Nomad. “It took two years of research and development, but we believe this is a real game-changer for Nut Files”, says Rognlien.

They cut & polish slots at the same time & do not drift like common toothed files. The industrial, even diamond coating cuts all new or existing nut or saddle materials such as nylon, bone, graphite & even metals such as brass & zinc. They added an ergonomic handle for total comfort & control of your cut, or you can remove the blade from the handle as an alternative cutting option. With 16 sizes to choose from starting with .010” up to .130”, they work great for electric, acoustic & classical guitars & even 5 string basses. Each blade has the size engraved on it, so you know what size you are working with. The handle has a convenient hang hole for your workbench. They can be bought individually or come in popular 6 pc. Sets with a nice aluminum storage case. They are taking pre-orders now and they start shipping in November 2020.

16 Individual Sizes: Retail $11.99-$13.99 per Nut File
6 pc. Set with Aluminum Storage Case: $69.99
Entire 16pc. Shop Set: $179.99

These look awesome. I'll be looking to get these when I try a set up of my own one day. I like that you guys sell a typical string gauge set at an affordable price. (Looking at you Stew Mac!)

Do you guys have any estimate on how much these will cut before wearing out? For example, if an average nut slot is 1/8" deep, how many cuts of that depth might I expect to get in the lifetime of the file? I'm sure this would depend on the material, but I'm looking for some sort of estimate for Tusq or cow bone.
