Default Two New Songs (Laid Back Acoustic)

I wrote these two a few weeks ago while on vacation in Montauk visiting family. These two were recorded on an iPad Pro, Apogee One Interface, and Auria Pro software. These are great tools for sketching out songs. All three of these things and a pair of little Sennheiser headphones cost me less than one good microphone. The guitar is a David Webber Roundbody that I bought from forum member Ricketts, and I love!

This song is a metaphor for the slow loss of my uncle to Dementia. The opening line came from something a buss driver said to my aunt while she was visiting my uncle at his care center.

I couldn't help writing this one as I just look around and see how lucky I am

I passed some files off to forum member Midwinter who is going to take a stab at working on them. Let's see what he comes up with

That song is sadly beautiful.

When I first played this song for a close friend she told me that it was melancholy in music. I'm glad you felt it.

Both those songs are quite good, Daniel! I enjoyed them both!

I know about the effects of dementia, the long slow, painful goodbye.

Thanks Daniel -- I hope all is well for you!

Loved both songs but the first reminded me that I am older than I used to be. Great song writing. And I especially like how you left 'room' for the song to breathe. The instrumental rhythms and notes are so well spaced as to help the listener hear all that is going on, especially the lyrics. Great music!
