Mathew,
I am glad you got this one. If it had been a significantly shorter scale, it would have not been available to you since I would have purchased it. It is a beauty.

Steve

It's truly a phenomenal guitar in every conceivable way. I had a hard time boxing it up. I'm glad you are enjoying it, as I believe it's one of the very best I've ever played.

I have played about a half dozen Brondels (and own one of them). Laurent's "tonal twist" is apparent in all of his builds. I happen to have played a Mahogany A2 and it was really, really good. I don't doubt that your new purchase is wonderful as well.

Enjoy it and congratulations!

Thanks guys. Steve, this is the longest scale guitar I own right now, hence me putting it in dropped tunings for the past week. It's really cool.

25.6" I think. The metric system continues to elude me

I think I was explaining the basis of Laurent's unusual scale length by US standards (e.g. Gibson's 24.75", or Martin's 24.9" and 25.4" scales). There are 25.4 mm per inch. So 650 mm equals 25.59" (25.6"). It is the most common scale used in classical guitar construction. Given Laurent's French roots, I suspect these lengths may be nods to these scale lengths (TBD, just a thought).

Glad to hear that you are enjoying it!

Thanks again guys, it's really been fun to get to know this instrument. I'm currently working on a Rush solo instrumental with it.

Not exactly 1 year old plus two full time jobs has eliminated any real efforts. But, now that I stopped going in through the out door and realized the problem we were talking about, it shouldn't be too difficult to get up and running. Until then I've been satisfying myself with practice so that when the time comes to put something on YT it'll go more smoothly. I'll keep you posted.

I made the mistake of letting this one go to Partrick three years ago. I will rectify that mistake mid-2019 by having its clone built. I usually don't have seller's remorse. This was one of the rare cases where I did.

It'll be hard to find mahogany like that, but we can get close enough. It'll be good to correct my mistake. Laurent has another 6 years of experience under his belt, too, so maybe it'll even sound better . . . which would be quite a feat.
