Default Savarez PB Strings Review

For many years my only guitar was a Takamine nylon string I bought back in 1972.
In that time I discovered the French made Savarez brand nylon strings were my favorites.
So I was surprised to see they made PB strings too.
I ordered a set of 12-53 Lights and they arrived today.
Decided to try them on my Epiphone EJ-200 - it's a guitar that makes ordinary strings sound worse but good strings can lift it way above it's pay grade.

Ok, so first thing that's a little different, the ball ends only use 3 colors!
1 & 4 are green - 2 & 5 are red and 3 & 6 are yellow.

I've got them on the guitar, they're still settling in but initial impressions are good.
Warm tone, nice feel, good sustain and volume.
I'll give them some more time but straight out the pack I'm liking them. Vive la France!

I was looking forward to hearing your review on these strings. Glad to hear your first impression is favorable. I started using these back in 2018 and think they’re great strings as well.

Hope they continue to work out for you! In addition to sounding great, I find they last a long time as well.

Single packaging (and colored ball ends) are what made me give up playing DiAddarios years ago. They are a royal pain if you break a string on a dark stage and have to change a single string!

Day 1 and I've gotta say they are very, very good.

You may be right - I guess time will tell ... although to be fair, strings that sound great make you play them more and the more you play them the quicker they wear out.

My experience is just the opposite, I find they last longer than most strings. Not including coated strings of course.

I guess we’ll see how it goes for the OP.

What I've got right now is a set of very good strings on a not-so-good guitar.

But having said that, there is a string out there that really lifts this guitar to a whole different level - round-core DR Sunbeam lights.

Probably an unfair test for these Savarez but I'm beginning to miss that extra performance that I get with Sunbeams on this guitar.

I'll give them another week or two but I already know what strings are going back on.
