Taylor 517 Grand Pacific Builders Edition CUSTOM.

This one was recently purchased here on AGF. It is an absolutely fantastic guitar in every way, but I’m in need of a good ole Martin Dread!

According to the fine folks at Taylor, it’s literally one of a kind. It has a few custom features that make it stand out from the normal production Grand Pacific’s. This guitar has a torrefied Lutz Spruce top as opposed to the standard Sitka, sinker mahogany back and sides as opposed to the standard mahogany, and an all gloss finish as opposed to the “silent satin” finish on the standard models. The story goes that this guitar was custom ordered by George Gruhn and commissioned by Andy Powers. Mr. Powers apparently personally selected the woods and oversaw the build of this instrument. I’ll attach a photo of the email exchange with Taylor Customer Service laying out the details.

I’m asking $2600 net to me shipped but to be honest I’d rather trade for a D or HD Martin 28 or 35 or a square shoulder Gibson. I’ll listen to other trade offers as well!
I’m located in South Louisiana but I DO NOT mind making a fairly decent road trip for the right trade! I’ve been known to make a 10+ hour drive for a guitar swap!

Beautiful instrument! I think it looks great in gloss, as opposed to what Taylor is doing with the rest of the Grand Pacific line where they are in all satin.

I’ve got a couple of wonderful trade offers....gonna send this one to the top one more time before I finalize anything. My preference would be to trade for an HD35 or 28 but I may just jump at something else! Don’t let this awesome one of a kind Taylor slip by!!!
