would you consider a 000 (short scale 24.9") with adi top and rosewood B&S but with the worn streetmaster look? Martin now has a 000-16 Streetmaster with those specs. has the 1 3/4 nut you need as well:

I have a question: Why would a HD-16R be selling for $500 more than the Special 16 Style Rosewood? They are both 16 Series guitars.

Optimism? Just because they're asking that doesn't mean they'll get it. |

The HD-16R has something of a cult following since it has a number of premium features, like a red spruce top, herringbone trim, etc. The neck joint is the main thing that distinguishes it from a Standard series guitar (and if I’m not mistaken, the earliest versions had a dovetail neck joint).
I think T Spoon Phillips did a nice write-up of the guitar. |

You get a M/T neck joint that comes with A-frame bracing, but you get the Adirondack top. I still think you should try the new D-16 Special. |

I just got a quote from Musician's Friend for 15% off the Special 16 Style Rosewood Dreadnought. That's tempting. P.S. Where did you find the specs on Sweetwater's site? I couldn't find the guitar listed there. Last edited by Troubador; 08-09-2022 at 04:15 PM. |

Hey what's up Troubador, If your looking for a guitar that is not so vulnerable to the elements, check out a Carbon fiber guitars, I played a "Rainsong " dread years ago. To me it would be the best all around camping or go anywhere guitar. I know Rainsongs are expensive but there are other choices.

Hey, that guitar sounds really good! Thanks for giving me that option. What's the nut width on this? I can't find that info. Last edited by Troubador; 08-09-2022 at 04:49 PM. |

I think I was confusing the HD-16R with the D-16M. From what I can tell, the early HD-16Rs had M&T neck joints, and then switched to simple dovetail neck joints. |
