Default NGD (Emerald X30 Royal Ebony)

If anyone ever doubted my claims regarding the X30, doubt no more. I never thought I would be able to have another one but here I am, lucky and blessed to be reunited with such a fine guitar. It's everything I remembered it was. Big warm and bold voice. I actually received it yesterday but I couldn't put it down long enough to create a thread, so here it is today.

I know people who search their whole life for that special guitar and never seem to find it and while I do have several awesome acoustics that I love the X30 is my guitar. Big, but super comfortable. This thing is loud if you dig in but can be subdued if you hold back which is why I love it so much. The vibrations just travel through your whole body while you play it which is an amazing experience.

I did have one issue, which is minor, and no big deal as it's regarding the pickup which I was planning to modify anyways. I ordered this guitar with a Barbera Soloist passive pickup with the intent to dual source it with a Schatten HFN using Schatten's Artist plus 2 preamp. For some reason they sent the guitar with the active Barbera lol but the way the cables were ran was causing a sympathetic vibration at certain frequencies. Some of the cables were ran across the top of the soundboard, which is something I would never do, but it doesn't matter I removed everything already and the sympathetic vibrations are gone and I hope to install my dual source setup today.

Overall this was a very happy experience, which usually is the case when receiving a guitar from Emerald. With the mug, the USB drive with professional pics of your guitar, the shipping videos yada yada yada makes me one happy camper! Here's some pics:

Congratulations - it's a beauty. And I know one that's more meaningful to you than it would be to a lot of folks. What's up with the bottom photo with two different X30s? The one on the left is your new one - is the one on the right your old one that your uncle has? Or just another with a similar veneer?

Try not to give this one away, no matter how good a deed it would be...

But if you ever do, I'll send you my address...

-Ray

Congrats Shawn! Nice thing about these guitars is that, tonally, you never have to worry about that one that got away

Call me a hopeless romantic, but I like it when a story has a happy ending! Congrats on this lovely X30 - glad it is all you hoped for. Again.

Thank you all for the replies! I've been busy all day installing my pickup and of course playing like crazy. Even the little lady is mad at me for playing so much. She's the reason I have this so I guess I better stop playing!

Ray in the bottom pic the X30 on the right is the one I gave to my uncle.

Thanks guys for your comments. I sent my uncle a pic this morning, he never knew I bought another one and now he feels bad. I told him to get mad at the little lady. That might help to get her off my back for a bit.
