Default Lava Me 2 action adjustment?

Anybody with one of these know how?

My new friend down the street has one and it's high. We can't see how ta access the truss rod, or even if it's adjustable. I suspect not, the guitar and neck being a one-piece injection-molded part.

But this thing sounds and feels GOOD! Like Collings 1 T good.

I don't think you can adjust the neck relief. It's really strange. I think the neck is straight without any relief. I hardly play my Lava Me 2. A few months ago, I filed down the height of the nut slots very carefully so as to make it more comfortable to play cowboy chords. Yes, it sounds quite impressive.

Take a close look at yours and tell us if you think the saddle can be removed and its bottom shaved to reduce the action height.

What I wonder is how action height differs unit to unit when you take a few brand new ones out of the box and measure. I've a feeling that what you get is pretty fixed, and doesn't change over time, so if you have a selection of them from which to choose, and action heights vary, you pick the one that suits you.

My friend's instrument has a particularly high action, and I want to try to help.

You’re spot on. I tried a few guitars and their saddle height varies. The saddle is made of tusq and can be removed and its bottom filed. I chose one with a low saddle height so that I do not need to file it down.

I seldom use it because the E to E string at the nut is 35mm versus 37mm for most of my other guitars. So I find it too close for comfort.
