That is a gold nugget of wisdom right there. And with that I do believe I have made up my mind to keep what I have right now and be patient and save for a D-28.

That's the wise choice. All you're really missing is that instant gratification...which tends to flee as quickly as it arrived in a lot of cases. Martin will not quit building the D-28...that's for sure!

D-28s are really good guitars. I've tried a couple. I keep playing
my old Gibson. You might be someone who turns out to miss his Gibson... Good guitar: Happy person: -Mike |

Your absolutely right, Martin will not stop building the D-28. And it is not like I am unhappy with either guitar. I am extremely happy with both.

Hahaha... That is so true, I find myself playing my J-45 the most because it just has mojo to it that I can not explain. Makes me want to keep playing and not stop. I tell everyone that my J-45 is like a pair of old jeans that fit just right. Feels like home

The funny thing is when i bought the J-45 I did not think I would love it as much as I do now. My past experience with Gibson acoustics made me think I would get rid of it soon after I bought it.

I will say that my past experience has been with 2 J-15s and one J-45 studio. All of them walnut back and sides. I know J15’s get a lot of love on the forum but for me they never quite caught on. And the J45 studio never moved me either with its thinner body.

made the mistake you're contemplating making. I sold a guitar i really bonded with to get something i thought i had to have. have never been able to replace the sold guitar. keep the J 45. You would have to find the Holy Grail to replace it and it doesn't exist.

Very true. It seems like all of us at some time or another will be in this situation thinking the grass is greener.

I had the same conundrum with my wife. I love her so much, but Shania Twain was available. I would have to divorce my wife in order to have a chance with Shania.
Should I do it?.......ummmmmmm.......no....
