NHL Thread 2021 season
NHL starts on tomorrow (Wed Jan 13) for the 2021 season. 56 games. 4 new divisions, including a Canadian only division. Only games between division opponents.
What teams and players are you following this year? Go Bruins. Go Penguins (oh no, they're both in the same division this year). |

Been a NY Ranger fan since I was 7 (1958). Last Stanley Cup in 94 I think, and only been doing so-so since.
Believe they'll have one of the youngest teams on the ice this year and will have their hands full with the division they're in. Will still enjoy the return of the NHL, no matter how they do...but I can hope.... Anyone think the new ruling on offsides (skate in the air) will cause any problems? john |

This season will be interesting and somewhat experimental in terms of team alignments. I wonder if lessons learned will result in future changes to the normal structure.
From a Canadian perspective, there’s long been talk of hoping to see a Canadian division. Although it would be nice to see Canadian teams playing against each other more often, I haven’t been a proponent of the concept because it would result in early elimination of most Canadian teams from the playoffs and the rare chance that two Canadian teams may make it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Anyhow, for this season, it will be fun to watch to see how it all plays out. Go Sens!

Great to see you all here again this season and I think there's a couple of new people too.
I haven't paid too much attention lately. Does Cleveland still have an NHL team? |

After watching the juniors, the NHL seems to be in slow motion.

Avalanche are speedy indeed, love Cale Makar and Nathan MacKinnon.
They have great offensive players but their power play has been lousy. If they figure out the pp, watch out. |
