It's very cool and I'm thrilled for Alistair and his team. I am a little surprised that there isn't at least one Weissenborn listed on their "Current Stock" page to go along with the roll out. Where the original Herman Weissenborn builds were very inconsistent, there obviously should be no so such issue with instruments that come out of a carbon fiber mold.

I expect that this will be somewhat of a niche instrument given how relatively few people play lap slide compared to standard "Spanish style" six strings. No disrespect to the very talented Mark Black but I would love to hear one of these in the hands of a David Lindley or Mary Flower.

I, too, thought it a little strange that there weren’t any ‘in stock’. Unless someone’s a dab hand with Photoshop, they’ve obviously built several. Maybe they had some pre-orders.

I’d love to see and hear Cindy Cashdollar or Jerry Douglas flying on one of these.

This is a truly beautiful, good sounding work of art. Congratulations to the new parent. I expect to receive a cigar, preferable Cuban.

That is so cool - I'm looking forward to seeing/hearing these in live action soon

Love the inverted tuners; they make the design even more functional.

Super cool! When I saw the announcement in my email I don’t think I’ve ever scrambled to get to a website faster! Haven’t ordered yet....but very tempted!

Agreed - makes much more sense than a paddle head for such an instrument.

Funny, I’ve never even really considered a Weissenborn. Until now.
Doggone it, thanks for posting those pics.

What pickup option would be best? I realize it probably “depends", but would like to know more.

When this project was happening there was talk of a "contest" where people could send in a video and possibly win a weissenborn. I wondered if anything came of this. Asking for a <cough cough> friend.
