Default Started writing my own songs...

Hi all,

I haven't posted on here for quite a while as I found everyone is far more talented at guitar and performance than I am and, to be honest, I got a bit intimidated. :-)

Anyway, although I've been tinkering with guitar a bit since I was 14, I have only just begun trying to write my own original songs.

Thought I'd share the first two with you all for a bit of feedback - hope you don't mind.

Thanks, Dave

Very nice. Especially the first one. One thing recording wise the vocal is somewhat boxy sounding (reflections in a small room sort of thing).
Suggest room acoustics treatment and/or a larger recording space.

They're great Dave - I really like the first one (although both are good) Nice tone / recording and vocal, although Derek is right about the room treatment.

Nice job and thanks for sharing - made me smile.

Very nice, David! You have a great voice and the songs are quite good. I also prefer the first one better, I like that vocal a lot and it has a nice blues groove. Well done, I hope you share more.

Hi Dave,

Wow, I am delighted to see and hear what you have done here! Both of these videos are very cool!

First, you did a good job on these song compositions! Really entertaining and interesting stuff!

Second, what a great idea to collaborate with Ryo. He adds a lot and does a nice job for you!

I think the overall sound is good. Well done!

Excellent job all the way around Dave! Good for you!

- Glenn

Thanks, young Glenn.
I was very fortunate in that Ryo came across my songs on YT and liked them enough to contact me asking if he could work with me to give them a ‘band feel’. (I would never have been presumptuous enough to have asked HIM lol)
He’s a clever fella indeed.
“It’s Music That Gets Us Through” was also picked up on by another very popular YouTuber / Musician who asked me permission then featured his version of it in one of his recent live-streams; so overall - considering these were my first ever goes at writing anything - I’m more chuffed than I perhaps deserve to be! lol
