Default Neck joints

I use a tapered dovetail. It's a decision each builder has to make for themselves and I'm very traditional in my approach to building. I've used bolt on with both glued and bolted tongues in the past, but I went back to dovetails about 7-8 years ago, and it's what I'm most comfortable with.

I think there are tonal implications. I'm certainly not saying that other methods of neck attachment have a negative effect, but just that they do affect the tone. It's just one piece of a very complicated puzzle.

What might those be in terms of someting a player would notice?
More or less bass, brighter, sustain, overtones etc?
