Yes, Michael and I have some long time friends in common from his Michael Gurian days and he took an interest in my project despite his retirement from Froggy Bottom.

Congratulations! Enjoy getting to know this one - I received my K just over a year ago and continue to be captivated by the tone and playability. Michael, Eric and the rest of the Froggy Bottom crew create amazing instruments.

Bob, what a beauty! I just love that Koa, and the top ain’t too shabby either.
I’d like to peek into your guitar closet someday. Second best, bring this FB to Woodstock?

Steve

That’s the plan Steve. I usually have a few guitars in tow. I hope to see you and Ryan in October at WILS...

How fortunate you are to have this guitar. I hope you play it well and for a long time. I would be eager to hear some words about the similarities and differences to some of your other guitars, Bruce's guitars for instance. Not a better or worse comparison but qualitative differences that you identify. I ave played many Froggys but far fewer of Bruce's guitar and would in interested in your impressions.

Thank you for the kind words and well wishes...

As you know, it is extremely difficult to articulate comparisons between guitars by a single builder let alone between builders. This is a large bodied guitar (16”) and it is likely would be best compared to my other larger bodied, moderate damping back and side guitars (15-5/8” and 16”) by Nick Kukich SJ (Cuban/German) and Bruce Sexauer J-185 (Oz BW/Adi).

I am honestly still getting to know the guitar at this point. I typically keep a set of strings on for week on a new guitar and go through variety of sets to see what I like best. So far, I have changed out the JP 80/20s for some D’Addario XT phosphor bronze strings. Just this change has changed the guitar’s timbre significantly. I will be working through D’Addario XT 80/20s next followed by Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze strings.

What I can tell you for now is it is a beautifully crafted instrument; a pleasure to play, fantastic sounding guitar that I am really enjoying to get to know. So give me a few more weeks to get to know it before I try to answer your question the best that I can.
