Eric Clapton said my guitar was hard to play after Pete Townshend smashed it.

He took a shot at playing mine but couldn't inject enough life into it to make it worthwhile. Said it sounded muzzled/muffled.

And Billy Bragg restrung it with 5-year old strings.

I am sure this thread is started tongue and cheek so let's keep the responses as intended by the OP.

A few years back Larry Carlton showed up unannounced at a jazz festival. He told the producer he'd like to sit in for a song or two but didn't bring his guitar. One of the other guitarist, Dwight Sills, offered his. Larry played a few songs and handed Dwight's nice 335 back. After Larry left the stage Dwight steps up to the mic and says "I hope this old 335 remembers all that....."

Last time I saw Eric (a couple years ago - we're not speaking at the moment), I was asking about a Martin with his name on it. He told it was easy to play...

So I bought one. And it is...

Just not well - that's still hard.

When Tommy E came to my birthday party he brought his guitar. I didn't like the sound of that guitar so I walked over to Paul McCartney standing by the window and asked could I play his guitar instead, but his guitar had only 4 enormous thick strings, so I declined. I looked around my room and saw Eric Clapton sitting in the corner but He wouldn't let me play His guitar (in case I was better than Him). So I finally joined a dream poker game on my verandah with Tony Rice, Doc Watson, Mississippi John Hurt, Andres Segovia and my next door neighbor who's a beginner guitarist ..... Guess what? I won that poker game and received $1,000 no strings attached.
