Default Jim Croce's- Operator

I started playing Operator when I was 15 years old, and after all these years it's in my "must do" playlist when I gig out. I find myself trapped in the 70's. So many great songs and artist from that time in music history.
Here's a live version from a recent gig.

Excellent performance of a really great tune. I kept hoping your buddy would join in with Maury’s vocal harmony part. Very well done!

I remember the day Jim and Maury’s plane went down. Still makes me sad.

Thank you for the kind words. I remember that day as well. I was just a few days past my 14th birthday. I had just gone to bed, turned on my old mono clock radio "Time in a Bottle" was playing and after the song they reported the tragedy. Jim and Maury were a special combination. Timeless treasures from them.

That was a perfect rendition. Thanks for that. I am also a Croce fan.

Thank you very, very much.
Jim Croce was my all time favorite. His music style inspired me greatly and his loss tore the heart out of many including me a 14 year old boy.
I try my best to do all the Croce songs the way people remember them.
If I could find a Maury, I would be thrilled.

Again, Thank you!

Hi FS!

Oh, very well done! Great job on this song! And your voice sounds really good, too! This has always been one of my favorite Jim Croce songs, too. In fact, it's the first song from him I remember hearing!

Already replied on YouTube, but really enjoyed this. Jim Croce is one of my favorites, his voice is right in my range. Operator, I got a Name, Time in a Bottle...so many great tunes. Beautiful job!

What a great way for me to start my day!!! I really enjoyed watching this video and listening to an excellent presentation of a great song. Your vocals and the guitar playing, as well as the bass are crisp and clear and sound very good in your mix. Thank You for sharing....

My Rainsong Guitar likes Jim Croce songs as well.
Thank you very much for the kind words.

Thank you so much. It's nice to know folks still love Jim Croce music.
:as far as the mix:
I use Fishman Amps; Performer and Artist for Vocals, Rainsong Guitar, and as monitors, and DI out to my EV Power speakers.
My best Buddy Steve does a great job playing bass. I'll tell him you enjoyed it.
We're two old guys having fun.
Again thank you for the comments!

My bass player is very shy when it comes to singing, and he told me I have a choice. PLAY BASS OR SING BAD but neither together. If I ever get him to sing, I'll get it on tape.

Wonderful job on a great song. Being "trapped" in the 70's is a great place to be. Some of the best music ever came from that decade.

Thanks Mike.
Jim Croce music is so much fun to play and sing. Even after 40+ years of playing his music.
