Question Dremel bits for rosette making

Hi,

I have a dremel 4100 and i got the jig for making rosettes. The only thing i need is the bits for routing. Where can I buy them IN EUROPE? Thank you!

You won't find downcut Dremel sized bits suitable for rosettes in any European store.

Your best bet is to get a friend in the US to buy a few from Stewmac, and send them over in an envelope.

I've purchased mine from Precise Bits but I'm in the US so I'm not sure if they ship to Europe. The prices were reasonable.

I use carbide dental bits. They are very cheap, and last forever in spruce.

I use end mills that can be had for under $10 apiece at any of the big supply houses line ENCO or MSC. I cannot imagine they do not ship over seas. Down cut is over rated in importance IMO. Sharp cannot be over emphasized, and go slow.

These end mills will fit a Dremel chuck?

You can buy a number of different size collets for Dremel tools. I have used the mini mill bits as well as carbide dental bits in Dremel tools for 40+ years.

Dental bits are about $1 each when bought in quantity. An FG59 is 1.4 mm (0.056") cutting diameter with a 1/16" shank. They fit in the 1/16" Dremel collet.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Midwest-Type...4AAOSwr7ZW4GxI

FG58 = 1.2 mm
FG57 = 1.0 mm
FG56 = 0.8 mm

I use FG59 and FG56 for rosettes and inlaying fingerboards and headstocks.

I use 1/8" shaft bits in dremel motors in a variety of carriages. Stewmac for inlay, Bishop Cochrane for precision stuff. Cutters vary from .030" for my little birds to 3/32" for saddle slotting. When I said under $10 I meant none over ten, many have been a couple of bucks. I use solid carbide, mostly. They die when they get loaded up and overheat.

I got a bunch that my dentist was going to discard as worn out. They still work fine for quite a while cutting wood, I think I wear one out every 5 years, that about half a dozen guitars per bit. Get your dentist to save the ones he was going to throw away, it's been 15 years since I got mine and my dentist still asks every time I see him if I need any more.
