Very nice, Tim. I haven't heard this piece in such long time.
Thanks.

WOW! I liked it.

That is so funny, though. I actually have this in my "Complete Idiots Guide to Playing the Guitar." I really liked it. But, uh.. Let's just say I play it a little slower. Okay. A lot slower. I love that piece.

P.S. No jabs about the 'Idiots Guides' okay?

Thanks Bernie. I think this piece had so much exposure in the past - in recordings and as a movie theme even - that performers seemed to be avoiding it... who knows, maybe the popularity cycle will swing back the other way.

TBman and JedimasterPaul - thanks for listening, appreciate the comments

Pigfarm - Thanks! I think it sounds better a little slower actually, and I'm a big fan of the Idiot's Guide series.

Tim,
A real oldy moldy for classical players like myself. I never bothered with it for the reasons you mentioned. Nevertheless well done, and it should be fresh to some of the listeners on this forum.

When you hear a perennial played well like that you realize how they became "oldy moldys". Nice playing Timothy.

Hi Timothy...
A nice way to begin the morning while doing e-mail, sippin' coffee etc. Nicely done.

Love the subtle touches...attacks, dynamics and tempo.

Thanks...

Taught him everything he knows.

Tim,

Great playing as usual. Thanks for sharing.

Rick-slo – umm… Thanks (I think, lol). Personally, the reason I like this piece so much is for its use in lessons… as an arpeggio exercise (even for beginners the E minor section can be easily learned by rote) and as a duet improvisation exercise (the straightforward harmonies and consistent rhythm make it perfect for that). Really, I think the E minor section is something every beginner should learn – IMO one of the best sonority-to-effort ratios in the repertoire.

outsidenote – Thanks for the kind words.

Larry – Thanks buddy. Appreciate it that you notice the expressive details.

Mike – I appreciate the comments.

deltoid – Thanks. It’s funny… a curse of recording is that you tend to notice little imperfections more over time. So… only listen to it once so you keep thinking it’s flawless.

Sage97 – thanks amigo.

Tim

Hi Timothy...
Boy that's the truth. Better guitar, better mics, better equipment all add up to more exposure of the sound for what it is without masking things.

Your's still sounds great on reviewing it again.

'Oldy... moldy... avoided...' whatever it may be, it sure was beautifully done, Timothy. Well done.
