This is by far the most interesting thread I've read in awhile!
By the way Jim, your explanation of the way you "approach" these tunings is by the far the most articulate explanation I have read or heard yet about using alternate tunings. From one educator to another, nicely done Now back to the digression - Any one want to take a shot defining Druid music? |

Well I'm new to the board and doing a search on alternate tunings this thread turned up.
Personally, I find alternate tunings fun to play in. I am currently writing a tune in D Wahine (DADF#BD) pretty cool tuning. Sometime there are sounds I hear in my head I can't find with standard tuning. I would probably be a better player if I would concentrate more on just playing in standard, but I wouldn't have as much fun.. Besides... it confuses the heck out of friends I play with.....
