which pickup again
I know this subject has been beat to death and i've read a bunch of threads on the
subject but here goes one more time. just got a 2014 hd28v and need to put a pickup in it. will be my main gigging guitar. really like the natural acoustic sound and love the guitar. thought i'd settled on a dazzo but i've ben researching and considering the ultra tonic or maybe even the trance amulet. would rather not go active with battery but if the trance is really good i would consiser it. i also prefer to have a volume control. same old dilemma everyones got. want a light unintrusive pickup with that sounds really great. also does the long saddle have any bearing on the pickup installation. i don't know if its glued in or not but don't think so. a buddy mentioned a baggs anthem but don't you have to lower the saddle for that. appreciate any input. just want to get something in and start gigging again. thanks. |

Any one of those three SBT pickups will give you a top shelf SBT signal!
Dazzo and a sunnaudio internal preamp gets you soundhole volume. Both Ultratonic and Amulet have soundhole volume options. It seems that Ultratonic is best for feedback suppression, which is valuable live. (Internal batteries and I don't co-exist, or else I might have gone for the Amulet myself based on sound clips.)
