I use the TC Polytune tuner and find that batteries last well over a year. I usually buy the Duracell brand. I just turn it on, tune and turn it off.
Best,
Jayne

Thankyou for your opinions ( even the advice to turn it off occasionally ). Is not about the cost , of course batteries are cheap enough, its just that thing we older folk get about value for for money ! Some of us ask about string longevity, some about tuners !

My Snark and Polytune tuners shut themselves off after a time. I never touch the off button. My take is that those little electro/buttons are fragile and I’ll end up spending more on a brand new tuner because of fussing with the little buttons than wasting a degree of battery power.

For what it’s worth, I’ve always bought the high-end DuraCell or Energizer 2032 batteries. But just for the heck of it, I recently bought a small 4-pack of “Amazon” brand 2032 batteries, fully expecting them to die out sooner, but to my surprise, they seem to be lasting just as long! -Not very a scientific test I know, but if the Amazon batteries were subpar, they would have died out long ago.

I have owned the Korg rimpitch-C2 sound hole tuner for 1 years ... a super accurate tuner that holds up very well and has a battery life of 36 hours. I tune my guitar every day and in 1 year I haven't changed the battery.

The Snark I use lasts over a year and I use it just about every other day. I also have a tuner that is USB charged. I don't use that one much though.

I agree, I take usage fatigue into many of my household items.

Guitar tuners were not on my list.

Usually, you can tell if an item will suffer from usage fatigue.

I have a HUGE complex about my Zoom H2 recorder switch, its a sliding switch.

For a push button switch, i would be a bit less worried, my Peterson clip on seems to have a non fatique switch in place, along with my Korg, not sure about other brands.

Don't ask me why I concern myself with material fatigue failure. If you live long enough, you'd understand.

I use a Fender tuner that automatically turns on when you attach it to your guitar and turns off when you remove it. My original battery lasted at least two years.

Sometimes the batteries that come in snark tuners don't last so long, but after replacing them with name brand ones, mine have always lasted a long time. As others have mentioned, make sure to turn the tuner off once the guitar is in tune.

All of the batteries in the clip on tuners I've gotten (Snark, Yamaha, Planet Waves, D'ddario,...), have lasted for a good while. If you order replacement batteries through Amazon they are inexpensive.

What's the model number of this tuner?

FWIW I have never changed battery in my intellitouch PT-10. It is only tuner I have owned and no kidding it is ten years old. Since I ever started playing. Weird.

I have no clue about the PT-10.

What I do know about the PT-30 is that it requires TWO CR032 BATTERIES and eats them for breakfast.

IS HORRIBLE

While I'm at it, the swivel arms are totally stiff and can snap if not careful.

Okay, back to batteries.

The batteries in one of my PT10s died just tonight. I can't begin to remember how many years they have lasted. 5? 8? So long that initially that I had trouble believing that they'd actually died. I have owned it at least 20-25 years and I suspect this will be the 4th set of batteries that will have gone into it.

My d'Addarios minis' batteries last forever, but I only have them on once every few days at most.
