Default A test of Anti-GAS will power

EVERY day on my commute to/from my day job I have to drive right past Gruhn's Guitars, Carter's Vintage Guitars, and Rumble Seat Music in Nashville.

Not....sure....how....long....I.....can.....resist ....

I hear ya.
The Minor Chord is down the street from my work.
I pass it twice every weekday.

Really surprised how reasonable some of those second hand Gibsons are at that vintage shop, they don't seem to command the sky high prices of Martins. If I ever go to Nashville (which I'd love to) I'll definitely go there.

I live fairly close to Nashville. However I don't think it's possible to find guitar bargains bearing the name Gibson/ Martin. As of a dozen years ago it was still possible to fine those little Gibson LG=1's for almost pennies. Now they're well over two grand. Sadly the stout after market price does not make them any better than when they were new. I seem to remember being at a NY guitar show and finding them at $200.00.

I'm don't think you should resist. I live on an island in Canada and couldn't resist. I bought a decades old Guild F50R from Gruhn and had it shipped here. Obviously I have little self control but I love that guitar.

I find the best cure for gas is buying a guitar. It takes my mind off of my desire to buy a guitar. Works all the time.

Ha ha. You've got three GAS stations between home and work. Couldn't be more convenient for you!

But seriously, I totally sympathize, living just a few blocks from Rudy's Guitars in New York. I pass by the shop at least three times a week and feel that magnetic pull.

As Oscar Wilde once said, "I can resist everything except temptation."

I think I'm glad I live in a music store desert - I have no temptation except what I find on the internet. It's much easier to resist that way.
