Default Altiverb 8 Released

Audio Ease has released version 8 of Altiverb 8 Standard and Altiverb 8 XL. Mac Silicon native compatibility. Many other features. Backwards compatibility to the 2006 version. The release is only for Mac computers with the Windows version to be released later.

Finally! I've been waiting on this and a few others. Kush and the Best Service libraries are my main deficiencies right now. I can function without the Kush stuff because I have the hardware Clariphonic but those Best Service libraries not yet being silicon compatible are killing me. I've written to them and they say the work is being done but because there are so many libraries and some are truly massive, the work is coming along slowly. I got the feeling they don't want to release things a bit at a time but want to release the entire update across all their libraries at the same time. I really don't like that plan, if that's what they're doing.

I just went to grab the version 8 and my installers came back for 7 which I currently own but have no installed on my Mac Studio. Do I have to repurchase to go from 7 to 8?

You have to purchase the v 8 update (Standard is about $96, XL is about $165), surrender your v 7 license, download v 8 (and IRs if needed), install, choose whether to use your physical iLok or your computer to register your license and have fun.

I couldn't find an option for that. Maybe I have to have 7 installed to get it?

I don't think you need to have 7 installed.

Start here:

Thanks for that link. I actually found my way to that page earlier and never noticed the box to check for upgrades. I'm getting €89 for the regular and €439 for the XL. That makes sense since I only own the regular 7. I bought my license 2nd hand and I'm pretty sure it was a license for 6 and no "XL" existed then. But it's fine since I have no need for the expanded version.

Default Best Convolution Reverb Ever!

Aloha,

Thanks for the heads-up sdelsolray.

You introduced me to Altiverb many years ago & it really is a winner. It was the best Convolutions Reverb I ever experienced.

Thanks Stephen!

Altiverb sells itself. I have six Liquidsonics reverbs, several of which can be stunning. Yet, I continue to use Altiverb. To my ears, Altiverb can sound more realistic simply because it sounds more like an actual hall, church, etc. than the others. I believe that is because of the Altiverb IRs.
