Default TNAG Visits Kostal Guitars Part 3 - Talking Guitar: Incoming Guitars for 2019

In the third part of our Kostal Headquarters visit, we look at some of the stunning incoming guitars we have spec'd out with Jason for The North American Guitar showroom in 2019.

Following on from an incredible year for Jason, we continue to aim to bring in the finest guitars on the planet, including a stunning Jumbo in Master Grade Maple, a OO in Padauk, an MDW in Amazon Rosewood and a jaw-dropping OMC in master grade Koa.

We hope you enjoy these videos as much as we enjoyed filming them...

First up we have an absolutely awe-inspiring Kostal Jumbo in a Master Grade Quilted Maple & German Spruce which is the sister (master grade) set from Jason's MIM (Musical Instrument Museum) exhibition piece. This guitar is going to be an absolute show stopper...here is Jason to tell us a little more about it:

Having seen a surge in popularity in the MDW model from Kostal Guitars this year, we decided to pull out all the stops and create a once in a lifetime instrument in this Amazon Rosewood MDW from Jason. The MDW model is one of Jason's desert island guitars, giving you (the player) all the versatility of an OM but with the punch of an MD and the snap of a OO. Built in what Jason believes is one of the finest sets of Amazon Rosewood he has in storage, this guitar is going to deliver a superbly sophisticated sound.

Last but by no means least we have a very rare OO indeed on its ways to us in 2019. Modelled on a OO currently being built for Jason's teacher and mentor (and luthier legend) Ervin Somogyi in a beautiful straight grained set of Padauk. As Jason tells us in this Talking Guitar session, Padauk was one of Ervin and Jason's favourite tonewoods, having many tonal characteristics to Madagascar or Honduran Rosewood in the high end but with the warmth of Mahogany in the lows. Being such a huge fan of Jason's OO models we just know this guitar is going to be the perfect all-rounder, producing a beautifully balanced tone, that will sit perfectly for the modern style fingerstyle player as well as the flat picker, and being a OO means is extraordinarily comfortable to play whether that be at home or on stage.
