This time around, I'm going with the full-sized unit with the sweetened tunings, etc. for Board #3.

Extremely accurate tuners. Easy to read, unbelievably responsive, too. The picture doesn't begin to do justice to the clarity of the display.

Highly recommended!
Yeah? Legit?

Just read up on strobe tuners. This brand seems to be well regarded.

I'm new to guitars and information like this is fascinating. Thanks man.

Decided to buttress my humidification routine. Some different in-guitar and in-case humidifiers to supplement the Humidipaks, and some additional sensors for a few new guitars.

If the D-18 I should have in my hands tomorrow turns out to be a keeper…I’m buying a Hiscox case for it pretty much right away.

I've got so many tuners and capos and flatpicks and humidifying equipment and extra cases and guitar stands and cables and an SM57 and amps and a sound system and guitar polish and wiping cloths and gear bags and direct boxes and wire cutters and truss rod adjusters and other stuff I've accumulated through the decades. I bought my last guitar almost two years ago (Taylor 814ce DLX) ----- and the only thing I've had to get is strings. So, that's my answer - strings. Happy new strings to yooooo, guitar!

The latest have been a Blue Chip TAD40 and a selection of Dunlop Primetone 0.88

I just ordered a new set of strings for the Taylor GS Mini bass that I just picked up, slightly used.

$36, ouch! Free shipping though.

D'Addario and Taylor got together and came up with strings made especially for this little bass guitar. The originals are on it now, and they feel great under my fingers.

I bought a Unitune after reading glowing reviews here and elsewhere on the internet. It's accurate, solid and the display is an upgrade from my Snark tuners but I don't like the small, fidgety buttons.

G7th 12-string capo yesterday.
As the ads say, best ever for keeping in tune. Sure, it's a 12 string, so still needs a bit of a tweak, but not an outrageous amount like my Shubb required!

On a whim, also got the Guitar Nomad 5 pc care kit. Polished body and oiled the fretboard of my LKSM. Best part? The guitar no longer wants to slip out of position. I can dispense with the grippy silicone pads on my leg and under my arm I've used for over a decade!

I'm really happy with the Waverly Ivoroid (Galalith) bridge pins from Stew Mac.

It was $18 well spent and significantly improved the sound of a Martin DJr 2 sapele. Treble and especially mid tones are much clearer. Sustain is noticeably improved. What a surprising and delightful difference!

Martin Retro strings, bone saddle and now the pins... I'm really happy with the sound that comes out of this little thing.

I chamfered the ends of the pins before installation. They sit proud of the saddle but I'm pretty sure my audience of nobody doesn't care. I might buy the tool and ream the holes anyway, just to learn how.

A couple of days ago I put a new National Hot Rod resonator cone in my Regal RC-2, a 14 fret knock off of a National Style 0 resonator. I'm pleased with the outcome, tone is better, fuller, the highs on the 1 and 2 strings are cleaner and ring out better. Especially around the 12th fret, tone is just less tinny, and is cleaner. Overall a definite improvement. Basically a pretty simple swap out, not
without a "moment or two", the action is a touch higher than with the old cone, it was set up pretty well before in the sweet spot so between being east to fret notes and slide as well. I'll play with it and see if I might wand to take a hair off of the saddle. Worth the trouble definitely.

5° bridge pin hole reamer.

https://www.philadelphialuthiertools...-hole-reamers/

I split the difference between the unreasonably priced $87 reamer from Stew Mac and the four dollar "close enough to 5° that it shouldn't matter" tool from Harbor Freight.

At $46.74 it works out to $7.79 per bridge pin hole.
