Larry, I LOVE the design elements...a really clean look. I've never heard one of her guitars, but if she's doing work for you that says a lot. I look forward to watching the build progress, and hearing this one. Thanks for sharing it

One quick update, as the fingerboard is all set, while the neck is being thicknessed and shaped...

I have been subscribed to her little bit of YouTube content since I saw Dustin play her model on the Cedar Rock page. It will be super awesome to see how a build thread plays out. Thanks for bringing this to our attention and best of luck.

I am just now seeing this and all I can say is wow.... so happy for you, amigo!

I initially reached out to Rebecca when I saw photos of the older, Cedar sibling of this one being assembled and after some chatting we moved forward and she was an absolute joy to work with. I feel extremely fortunate that the guitar was available at the time of her posting the beginning stages. She hadn't started the neck yet so I was able to request a slightly wider nut like you and I think now I really have a lifetime guitar. I also have the side soundport and short scale. Her setup and fretwork was very "true" to me right from the shop so I was extremely happy from the get-go, just opted to lower the action a hair.

I won't post the clips here as to not spam my content but for anyone curious about Rebecca's impeccable tone you are welcome to search "Dustin Furlow Remembrance" on Youtube for a good idea. I love how pure her sound is, not too overtone-heavy but not too dry either. Fat trebles and lovely sustain.

I just returned from the Netherlands where I had my girlfriend record a couple of nice clips in her studio with Rebecca's OM that I will be very happy to share once they are finished being edited.

Again, so happy for you, man! I will be eagerly checking back here for updates and to hear the tone once you've spent some time with it.

This is a GREAT guitar, from a great builder..
I had the honor of sitting right next to her booth a couple years ago at laConner, and I played her guitars all weekend!! The tones on all of them were staggering, and even though I'm sure I annoyed her, it was a highlite of that weekend for me... Congrats on this build.

One more thing I just have to say - her work on the inside is really a sight to behold, too. Very clean. I love how both the internal soundport and cutaway areas appear to be reinforced with figured claro walnut. She did something similar for my neck block by using a nice, figured piece of maple for the veneer that you'd never notice unless you looked in the sound hole at the right angle. So much care and attention to the small details.

A quick update, as Rebecca has shipped two guitars out for finishing...the Spruce top one is mine, and the second is a Redwood topped instrument.

Enjoy.

Freaking gorgeous. The headstock/rosette/back accents go together so well for each guitar., very much a yin yang vibe. I hate to think they'll be split up! [emoji14]

Is there any significance to the maple one piece neck? Just caught me off guard I expected mahogany.

It’s unstained mahogany...I think.

Indeed, most likely mahogany. Mine appeared light orange before finish as well.

Really can't wait to hear this guitar after you've spent some time with it, Larry. Beautiful headstock variations here.

Just...wow! Her aesthetic is nice and clean. If they sound as good as they look, and I’ll take Larry’s word for it that they do, they’re special indeed.
