I think The Grapes Of Wrath is my all-time favorite Steinbeck novel. It’s so monumental.

I did the same thing around the same age - and it taught me a lesson: not to read all an author's books at once. I should have known Steinbeck would not live and write forever. A few years he was dead and there was almost nothing new I would ever be able to read from him. So now when i discover someone I really really like I don't read all his works at once.

Not particularly worried about that. I have read many books more than once.

Mostly history or historical fiction, and in some cases entire series of books.

While I will admit it's never the same, sometimes it's better. Especially when you pick up things you missed the first time through.

For example, I read "Seven Days in May" by Knebel and Bailey when it first came out in paperback, and also saw the movie with Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster. Got a hold of a used hardcover late last year and was amazed at how good it was, how scarily suspenseful it was, and how well it held up.

Be well and read well,

Don
