Default Gibson J-185 2008 - SOLD!

Offering up my beautiful 2008 Gibson J-185. Anyone owning a maple acoustic knows it can take the better part of 10 years for it to really open up and sing. This baby does just that. It has what I believe is a K&K pickup installed, with a volume wheel mounted in the sound hole. Unplugged, it is loud and sweet. Plugged in, it is perfect for those playing in a full band, as it absolutely holds its own.

I call it a 9/10 condition-wise. Minor, expected light wear, mostly light swirls. You only see anything when held up in bright light. As the second owner, I had my tech remove the strap button from the heel, where the original owner placed it, and it is now positioned properly, balancing the guitar perfectly, for those who stand and play. See last photo of where my tech filled the original hole and touched it up. He chose not to buff it out, as the finish on these guitars is thin, in order to let the maple sing. Comes with an aftermarket HSC.

Nut width is 1.725" and string spacing at bridge is a hair under 2.25". Sitka top, maple b & s.

This is a straight sale only, not interested in trades.

AGF PRICE: SOLD shipped/insured CONUS

Are you sure about the nut width and string spacing? I thought the j185 had a 1.725 nut width. Maybe the older ones were different?

Remeasured it, 1/32" less than 1.75", so if you say 1.725, then that is what it is.

String spacing is about 1/32" less than 2.25" - so whatever that amounts to, 2.22 or so.

I washed out of NASA, so these calculations are beyond my pay grade.

I really wish it were 1.75; I would be all over it. It's still an awesome guitar at a good price. I'm sure it won't last long.

Almost everything I own is 1.75" and I couldn't tell the difference. I guess the shallower neck profile masks it or something. Feels nice and full.

That really is a beauty. But gee, shaving 10 years off my life just doesn't seem worth it.

Monday might bump. Broken-in maple powerhouses don't often come around.

The 185 may be the most aesthetically pleasing guitar to me. I have never played one but want to.

Someone is going to land a beauty!

The well-balanced tone combined with the crispness of the maple back and sides makes this a very versatile guitar.
