Gig bags don't do it for me. I have found the Crossrock case to be the perfect balance of weight and protection.

Godin TRIC hard gig bags are my current favorite. Lightweight, intelligently padded, some thermal/humidity protection, and backpack straps. I've flown with them and gate checked without worry.

The Taylor gig bags are very well padded. Not cheap but excellent bags.

It seems most gig-bag style cases either don't offer enough protection, or are large and ugly. Does anyone know of any good alternatives to Collings Traditional cases? I am not looking for flight protection (although that would be nice), but rather just enough for bump protection, say if it banged into the corner of a stone table.
Problem is that much of the bulk you don't like is where the protection is, so you can either have something which does little more than act as a dust cover, or something bulkier which does offer decent protection. Personally I will always choose the latter; for me a case is about practicality, not aesthetics.

I’ve been looking for a bag or poly foam case.. unfortunately my guitar is nearly 43” in length.

Saw the WolfPak at GC reasonable price.. but too short by like an inch.

If you are near GC may want to check the WolfPak polyfoam
