Default Doerr LS

Tom Doerr - Cedar / Indian Rosewood, Koa and MOP.

Serial Number LS 050509

This guitar has been my player / performer for the past few years. It fits my flat-pick / finger style perfectly. Action is set relatively high. Intonation is perfect. Strung: 12/53 Elixir's.

I perform with it every week, and practice some - so it's really opened up, rich with a power bottom end and balanced through mids and highs. K&K pickup (installed by K&K, as I understand) Cedar Creek Case is in great shape.

https://wp.me/a4kaUY-1ob - Strings @ Nut 7.5mm
https://wp.me/a4kaUY-1oe - Strings @ Bridge 11.5mm
https://wp.me/a4kaUY-1oc - Bout, Upper 9cm (3.54 in)
https://wp.me/a4kaUY-1od - Bout, Lower 12cm (4.72 in)

Neck at the nut: 45mm (1.75 in)
Neck at octave: 57mm (2.25 in)

I'm the third owner (that I know of.) Slightest fret-wear. (Rosewood?) fingerboard is perfect, shows no wear at all. Neck has no capo pits, or scuffing. Some of the usual small dings - none break the finish, except a small crack in the top (lower bout, treble side, which does not cross into the Koa binding) and remains unchanged. It's difficult to see. I filled with urethane and wiped clean. Nothing that affects playability WHATSOEVER. Finish overall is in great condition. I added a clear pick guard, there are no strum scuffs.

Stored correctly: 60-70F 50-60% (average) (Home on the S. Coast of Oregon.)

$3600.00 US. I pay shipping and insurance.

Serious Inquiries only. Referrals greatly appreciated.

Send a PM for more details.

Early bird catches this one. This is a fantastic opportunity to own Doerr cedar tone.

- Blemishes / dings at cutaway
- Repairs - fracture lower treble bout
- Crease/ blemish lower bass bout

Sorry but I'm not understanding your measurements. Can you post nut width and spacing at the saddle in inches please? Also lower bout width. Thanks

Default Bump: Price Reduced

Okay,

First of all, I really appreciate folks (JR Rogers, particularly) for helping me understand (finally) that my photos are much too large to display inline with this for-sale post. 'nnngoink.

So, the links I gave lead to images stored in my website media folder. If you click on them, you can really drill down / pan around. Sorry for the hassle, but there are benefits.

Next thank you (again) "Fitness1" for snagging the images you resized and posted for me. That was an ultra-friendly thing to do, man.

So, yup. I'd like to sell this instrument and am dropping the price.

Now: $3250.00.

(...honestly, much below that and it is best to keep it, ending up with two instruments by Doerr.)

I would agree - and having two wouldn't be bad!

David,
I would still like to se the nut width and string spacing at the saddle in inches. The dimensions you have listed make no sense for both these dimensions.

Thanks

I don’t mean to butt in but is the spacing at the octave generally the same as the saddle spacing? Honest question. Not the first time I’ve seen someone give that spacing instead of what’s at the saddle where the picking hand actually is. In any case Im starting to think for serious buyers it’s better to use MM when it comes to this price point because 1/16 of an inch can make a big difference to the discerning player and I’ve gotten a few that either weren’t measured correctly or weren’t measured at all. End mini-rant

Oh yes - good catch - I didn't notice the spacing was listed at the 12th. Not necessarily the same (many are different) not sure what Tom was doing in '05.

In any case this is a smokin' deal! I've been coveting one of Tom's guitars for a long time now.

This is the best deal on the forum...period! I’ve had 100+ guitars and my Doerr Legacy was the best hands down.....this should be gone shortly. Someone will be happy!

Not sure what you're discussing ... I gave photos of those locations and then measurements of the neck width.

Is there a question I can answer?

Saddle? Bridge? Same thing to me... apologies. Have a look at the photos ... the ruler has mm and in. It was very late and dark in my space that evening, I might have misread the ruler. Checking that out.

shesh... I'm make some corrections... frustrating, I know! I just redid these in the light.

https://wp.me/a4kaUY-1ob - Strings @ Nut 7.5mm
https://wp.me/a4kaUY-1oe - Strings / Saddle @ Bridge 11.5mm

Best I can do.

Sincerest apologies...
