Bugera V5. I got mine from Musicians Friend on sale for $179 delivered. Tube amp, 5 watts, attenuator (5w-1w-.1w), sounds nice loud or quiet.

I like it much better than my Mustang I. In fact I never even use the Mustang anymore.

Your $150 budget actually lets you look at a ton of possible choices. From a standpoint of available tonal range, the current crop of modeling amps like the Fender Mustang 1 are wonderful. The Vox Pathfinder and Valvetronix amps are wonderful and flexible. Marshall makes some small amps like my MD15 that have their iconic tone. Behringer... Line 6... Orange... Take your guitar to the store with you, plug in and enjoy the search. Find the one that goes farthest in a tonal direction you like and least in a direction you don't like. That's a tonal range you'll enjoy most.

Consider other features... Would you like to plug in a cd player or an MP3 player so you can play along? Would you like to run a line out to another speaker? Do you want built in effects or would you prefer to use pedals? Do you not need effects at all?

And don't forget in the midst of all this analysis to enjoy the search!

I have the Roland Microcube and find it very versitile. Works off A/C or six AA batteries. Plenty loud to practice with or even play with others in a small room. Good build quality, long battery life, light weight.

You know, I'm in love with my Version II Fender Blues Junior... but you shouldn't go by what I like. There are so many good smaller combo amps out there, it's all a matter of what fits your needs. So spend a day shopping around and trying different amps. Like a lot of people, you may find that a Fender Champ fits all your needs. Don't neglect smaller companies like Peavey or Roland, either. Nobody can judge your needs or your budget the way you can. So do some shopping. It won't hurt.

Should have the Vox Pathfinder 15R on that list. Dough! I missed that you already picked up two Roland's. Best of luck with those.
