Both of my Emerald guitars (no veneer) were shipped to northern CA via UPS, in 8/20 and 3/21. Each time it took a week, and there were no extra charges.

I've previously ordered and owned four Emerald guitars. Three were not held for extra fees and arrived in a week - one was subject to a "Customs fee" when I picked it up at the post office after being held by US Customs for several weeks...

Wondering if Emerald has any experience or history shipping with both of the US's dominant international carriers other than UPS - Fedex, and to degree DHL?

They're still a small shop judging from the Friday videos with somewhere between 20 and 30 packages going to the US.

IME I have not seen a lot of differences in similar international express services - they all seem to get there in a relatively reasonable time without detours into the US "federales". Of course a guitar is a rather large, conspicuous package as packages go.

Hoping for good luck as I just got a tracking number from Emerald.

I think that, for a brief while, they were using DHL, but I’m not 100% sure.

I’ve had astonishingly fast service from the UK with DHL, but that was boxes of books, so smaller and less conspicuous. According to my sister (the sender), DHL had very clear and precise instructions for the paperwork required. The point being, that if there had been any issues with the delivery, my beef would clearly have been with DHL, not my dear sister.

Emerald may very well be limited in their shipping choices because of their location.
