Best all around entertainment mixer
Hi guys
I'm looking for a mixer that does it all From solo acoustic gigs to a larger group of up to 6 that play a park pavilion weekly. It'll also be assigned to DJ and karaoke duty at parties large and small It needs to have decent effects for both instruments and vocals And I'd like Bluetooth music streaming for the Spotifiers in the crown. Maybe even have an app to control it from the audience for when that old drunk guy giving a speech drones on and on but you don't want to be rude and walk up to the mixer and turn the music up right in front of him I'd like it basically do whatever it's called upon and not break the first time out. It'll go through a couple 12" and 10" powered speakers and a sub What do you think? |

Maybe a Behringer XR-18 would fit. Not sure if it has Bluetooth, but it can be controlled from a tablet.

Not having bluetooth is not a deal breaker, I could always plug a bluetooth receiver into the mixer .
It would just be nice to not have something extra I need to charge or replace batteries |

I've had a Yamaha MG8CX I've used without fail for 7+ years. It's the old model with plastic case. The new MG models have a metal case. I'm pleased with my MG16XU as well as the smaller MG06X.

I use a Soundcraft EFX-12. Built-in effects that I really like (even has a karaoke effect setting). 12 individual XLR inputs plus 2 stereo 1/4 inch inputs. No Bluetooth though. They may not make that model anymore, but I do like Soundcraft.

The Behringer XR18 mentioned above is a lot of digital mixer for the money but it is iPad or other tablet dependant. 16 mic channels plus two high-z makes it quite suitable for even medium sized setups (providing you don’t want to close-mic a large drum set and have stereo inputs from a bunch of keyboards etc!). If I remember correctly they share a lot of the features of the larger mixers that have befitted from the parent company’s acquisition of Midas: we use a Midas M32 in our smaller venue and it is an excellent mixer, easy to use and some of the best on-board fx and compressors I’ve seen at that level. I think the XR18 should have some of those features too.
I have a little Mackie DL16 for some of my own small sound gigs and beats the Behringer for portability but the XR18 has built in WiFi (the Mackie needs a separate router) and can output multi-track audio for recording (this is possible on the DL32 but not the smaller models). As for streaming audio via BlueTooth, there are all sorts of dongles available that start at very cheap all the way up to dedicated BT-DI boxes but I would tend to keep it simple with a mini-Tele to 2 mono Tele in the high-z inputs.

QSC Touchmix - no Bluetooth, but I've never heard of a mixer with Bluetooth, only speakers.

Most new mixers have a Bluetooth channel. Go to Amazon and search “Bluetooth mixing board” or something similar.
Don’t know your budget or if you already have any of the other components but a Lucas Nano 608i has all the features you are asking for.

I've got a Peavey XR8300 that's been in service for 7 years now with Zero problems! I can use the RCA inputs to plug my IPhone in and I've got DG capabilities!

If you're considering buying used then the Mackie dl1608 can be bought for peanuts. An ART DTI can be used to interface RCA phonos, TRS jacks and XLRs through isolating transformers. Stick it on the end of two mic leads and you can connect from anywhere in the stage.
New? XR18.

Ditto on the XR18
A bit of a learning curve because of the flexibility. Excellent compact size, digital convenience, I mix mine from stage with my tablet. I love the way I can save shows and settings. I replaced a yamaha MG10XU mixer (great piece) because I needed more input channels. XR-Xair18 is an great option.
