Dumb Machine Head question
Any reason why a set of Grover Rotomatic machine heads (102 series: 25/64" hole) off a Les Paul wouldn't work out fine on an acoustic with a wee bit of extra drilling at the headstock to make way for the thicker shafts?
They look fine depth wise... Or is there something else I should be looking at? (I have an old banger of an acoustic I'm using for slide and the machines on it are pretty bad. I also have a set of Grovers just sitting here doing nothing, so...). |

No reason whatsoever - IMO

If it was anything other than your "old banger of an acoustic", I'd suggest a tapered reamer rather than a drill to minimize damage to the finish!

Excellent -- thanks both. I have a friend who's a pretty serious artisan furniture and woodworking kinda guy I'm sure he'll know what to do.

so long as they fit, tuners are pretty much tuners. some have different ratios and some look a little different, but if they work..............
