Default Boss WL Series wireless - Baggs users, forget it.

The Boss WL20 series wireless is not compatible with LR Baggs pickups. From Roland Support:

"Unfortunately the LR BAGGS pickup system is not compatible with the WL-T Transmitter. This is due to the RING to RING coupling between the LR BAGGS Output Jack RING being used for 9 volt battery activation/ON and the WL-T TRS cable end RING used for PAIRING/CHARGING."

I have tried it and I do get a high pitched whine. Customer support also recommended I try an "1/4" TRS FEMALE STEREO to 1/4" TS MONO MALE adapter" of which they know of no right angle models.

Six inch transmitter sticking out of the guitar? No thank you. LR Baggs is a pretty big part of the market to overlook.

A few members have discovered this as well. A lot of these wireless systems don’t work with most active pickups. They will produce sound but with interference. That’s why I kind of gave up on them.

Thanks for the tip. The spec sheet says <4ms latency, some models are listed as 2.5 ms. Do you notice any lag when using it? I am eager to try the XSW-D.

Hey Bone,

There is a workaround. I have the anthem in both of my stage guitars.
I use the WL20 with a simple 1/4” TS to 1/4” TS right angle adapter.
Work’s flawlessly with no noise or apparent signal loss.
I’ve been using this setup since last October, and I gig three or more
times a week.
I understand some users have had issues with highly saturated Bluetooth
areas, but I’ve had zero issues.

It’s not necessary to use a TRS to TS. A simple TS to TS works just fine.

Thank you sir. I will give that a try. Wireless is a gas! I hope I can find a way to make it work.

The WL20 works just fine with my LR Baggs equipped Godin Doyle Dykes Multiac.

I bought a similar adapter and it does work fine.
The Ring on the transmitter does not then connect to the ring on the output of the guitar.
