Hi Chaddywac,

I'll have the mahogany, please. It's what I'm used to.

But can you play both? Whichever sounds best to you is the real winner. I've had differing experiences with Koa guitars, some seem very lively, others not so much. It's a beautiful wood. But not all that glisters is gold.

Can't speak for the Koa model, but my J-45TV is one of my very favorite guitars.

well I buy most all my guitars in Bham P'cola we don't have a great store here in Mobile AL I almost sold my practice last year and was in talks with Taylor Martin and Gibson I was going to open a small mom pop store but I decided not to sell but now it is coming back around in my mind! I want to build a guitar I have the equipment and feel sure I could, We build $80,000 prosthetic legs I think we could. I have never played a J45 with Koa but love the TV series Gibson but that Koa is pretty lol! those 2 have been eating at me until I saw that Tony Vines on here now at a loss!

I had the latest Koa ltd J45. That would be a very tough choice. How clean and new is the TV. The Koa should still be minty, they aren't that old.
