Over 22 years of my trail building and starting a bike park my neighborhood brewery has been a partner. What was mostly self-interest and a small posse of diggers became a really popular thing. Our small group hanging at the neighborhood biergarten grew into them trying to help us raise money and a cool scene with guided rides and live music and an end of season Movie night with hundreds of people.
For movie night next week we'll have a 7 barrel system batch canned with proceeds helping trails and conservancy lands. We still do totally old school hand built trail but what started small is now an easy 14 or more mile trail ride, and the dirt pump track and jump line are just about to be replaced with a $250,000 new paved pump track. I'm SO grateful for all the help. We're still a bunch of never grow up dirtbags but it is incredibly cool to have thousands enjoying it and parents even in tears of joy saying you did the coolest thing in the world for their kids. Again, thankful for the help - I started it, was at times maybe a serf or captive to it, but it represents countless hours by many special people to be what the scene is now.
