This is a really good resource from forum member Doug Young:

Made me fall for the Anthem. One day I'll put it in my J-45...

Why do you suggest the Matrix instead of the Anthem? I already have the
Baggs Element in there now. Why swap one under saddle PU for another?

Purely my opinion but I honestly don’t know why sooo many on this forum love the KK. Had KK in various different guitars in the past and was never satisfied.

Why did you choose the Anthem SL instead of the full version?

Two things: lower price and less invasive on the top vibration.
I set the volume between mic and piezo with a screwdriver and is all ok. Real woody tone, airy sound, I’m very happy with it.

I've had the Anthem SL in two different guitars.
It is simpler to use, and you can achieve a very natural sound with it.
I was told that many of the folks that work at Baggs preferred it for its simplicity.
Basically, once you dial it in to your specific guitar your kind of good and there's no need to mess with it anymore.
As an aside...
I am not a fan of soundhole pickups but there are certainly some good ones on the market.

In response...
The K and K Pure Mini has a pretty fair amount of output for a passive pickup.
At least mine does. When I play through an amp or a mixer I find the need to EQ out quite a bit of bass. I believe the best J45's are the ones like mine and probably yours...lots of thump. That can be an issue with certain pickups.

Makes sense. I will probably do the same.

I have a K&K Mini in my '59. I'm very happy with with the pure clean sound of it. It does take some EQ work for certain rooms or sound systems but I've never found it to be difficult to dial in a great tone.

Anyone else want to chime in about what to put in my J45?

I'm leaning towards the Anthem SL.
