Default Finally, satisfied with what I have

For the past 10 years, I’ve been trying to find that one guitar that would allow me to thin the herd. I’ve been fortunate to own two froggy bottoms, two Santa Cruz, A Goodall, a Huss and Dalton, and a McIlroy to name a few. All fine guitars in their own way, but none of them made me want to part with the guitars I have.

I’ve come to realize that for me, there is no one guitar. I enjoy the variety that I have. They’re all paid for, so I think I’m just gonna stop looking and enjoy what I have. For the first time in a long time, I haven’t had the desire to look at the classifieds. kind of a weird, feeling not to be searching for the next guitar.

Congrats!! No easy feat. They'll probably etch in my tombstone..."He's STILL not satisfied!"

But the Japanese handmade models? I think that might be what he meant...

Me too! I don't even look at classifieds any longer. I have had a long journey with GAS, and at times it has been a bit debilitating for me, but I feel like I have finally beat it. I am much happier! My collection has settled to my original 1993 Gibson J-30, an L-00, a Baxendale conversion H-1260, a Guild D-1212, a partscaster tele (that is awesome and I have been offered some good money to sell it many times), a USA Epiphone Casino, and a Gibson ES-335. My amps are a handwired Princeton and a Champ re-issue, both wonderful and diffferent. I am a lucky guy!

I should be satisfied. All my guitars are nicer than I can do justice to. That doesn't keep me from lusting for others though. Space and finances will keep me from buying any more for a while and there aren't any I want to sell (acoustics) in order to acquire others. So I guess I'm as close to satisfied as I can be.

Nice. I haven't window shopped in a few years now, but I'm not going to swear I'm good. It feels like I'm going to enjoy whatever time I have left with what I have, but you never know.

sfaction is a nice state of mind. Unfortunately, it's short lived. So, let me know how that works out for you.

Oh, and by the way. I've got two words for you, Rosewood99

Maple and Maple.

Gibson J-185.jpgJ-200.jpg

Oh sorry, that's three words.

I am very satisfied with what I have. After passing many guitars through my hands, some very high-end, I have come across these ones that I love, and at my age I don't think it will change anymore. Maybe I would need a 12-string, but for the little use that I would give it in the end, I never bought it.
