Default Ordered a case from Arthur Benedykt

I found a gentleman in Poland who has a hobby making instrument cases. His main gig is psychology.

He is a true European artisan, and only makes 10 cases a month. Mine should ship the last week in February. Black with red stitching and red interior, for my Monteleone LaCorsa.

Very interesting. They're kind of a hybrid of a soft case (zippered closure and soft exterior) and a hard case (wood framing, hinges, and arch top).
Reasonable price for being custom sized, especially if you have an odd shaped instrument.

What did it cost to ship to you, and were there any duties?

Ordered just yesterday morning, but I understand from a luthier friend in Montreal, Quebec, Guillaume Rancourt, that it's about $70 shipping. He's had a bunch made and has several more on order.

Here's some pics from the case maker's site:

My guitar isn't very odd shaped, but it's worthy of a nice case:

Beautiful and that gorgeous guitar certainly befits a high quality case to go along with it.
Best,
Jayne

Really smart. Zipper instead of clips. Brilliant.

Very nice case and very nice guitar! Wow! The case reminds me of older style classic luggage from Europe.

As a few others have tacitly pointed out, it's really beyond reasonable compared to many pedestrian cases.

Currently if I take my Monteleone LaCorsa out of the house it goes in a Guardian 00 size case I bought on Amazon for $89.00, but I figured the guitar is worth a nicer case.

Calton cases are far more expensive, even used, and this one is made to order with 8 different measurements.

In this instance I'm getting way more than my moneys worth, and it will more than hold its value while holding & protecting an instrument worthy of a very nice case; one built by an artisan with world class skills, much like my friend John Monteleone who built the guitar.

Best regards,
Howard Emerson

That’s a great looking case at a very reasonable price. I am guessing that “eco leather” is some type of polymer with a low moisture permeance? Very nice.
