Probably another kayak.
There was a 10-12 year period when I bought/sold/traded guitars and kayaks weekly, always building and thinning both herds, constantly upgrading and keeping the keepers. At least a few of those transactions involved instruments for boats and vice versa. I got up to 20+ guitars (and amps) at one point and 6 kayaks (and a canoe). This brings me to my present point of knowing what I like (and what I don't). Pretty content with my current numbers, 7 and 2. Last edited by tinnitus; 01-26-2023 at 11:24 AM. |

I've sold quite a few guitars over the years and some to upgrade, however most were sold to fund other non-musical things like car tires, a repair of some sort, or a family emergency.
I'm happy with what I have now, so any sold now would probably be to fund some home/family related need. |

I had to sell my prized PRS SC245 because I got hit by a surprise $2500 veterinary bill. Practically gave it away at $2100. Sold in a day. Really miss it, but my dog is still alive. [emoji4] |

Similar story, we had a family emergency and sold my Collings DS1 for $1700 in about 30 minutes (the amount of the bill). I don't regret it for a minute. It's just a thing, but family is forever.

Can't argue with that
![]() I have the blue BB58. Tudor has been putting out some nice watches recently. And you don't have to deal with the Rolex waitlists ![]()

I am trying to pay for two weddings and two honeymoons right now. Maybe not my first choice, but well worth it.

Ouch, Tom---that's a big two-fer.
And congratulations at the same time. Once life settles, I'm sure there will be room for more guitars |

I've been looking at harmoniums a bit. I love their growl. I inherited a lovely 1890s pump organ that is tuned pretty far off from A440, so it isn't much help in my composing and recording. There's a great little outfit in Urbana, Illinois that builds them in India and then stabilizes, regulates, and tunes them here so they aren't so... um... dodgy.

I'd probably go for some esoteric and more exotic food stuff that I could cook with. I do all the cooking at home, and really enjoy it. But we stick to a budget both in time and $. So while I do a lot of chopping, sauteing etc, it's still somewhat standard fare.
So with guitar funds I'd be inclined to splurge on groceries and invite the neighbors and friends over to sample whatever I came up with.......
