Sorry. I thought I detected some attempts in previous posts to take something fun and turn it into a competition, with winners and losers. Not everything needs to be that way.

Well part of that is the social world that we live in, right? Funny how no one posts their 6 guess fails in Wordle on Facebook!
Me, I'm an engineer and having a "system" is just ingrained in me! That's why I moved to the 8 x game.

One of us had a 1/6. So, if you were wondering, it can be done!

Edit to add: tried a new starter word this morning and got it in two!
My 1/6 was ALOUD, one of my go to starting words.

I recall one that drove me batty ... VIVID

Oh, my friends post when they fail! They get so mad... which is why I tell people to not use hard mode. It's really trying to help, not one-up anyone. I think some people don't realize they don't have to re-use correct letters and that, in fact, it can be helpful not to.

Oh, for goodness' sakes... it's just a silly word game!

I do post my results on Facebook, as do a few other acquaintances... and, yes, I post when I get skunked! Doesn't happen very often, but it has happened... Always fun to get the answer in two or three, although two is pretty much the luck of the draw. Hitting it on the first word is certainly that - it's only happened to me once, thus far!

What I find curious is how quickly I forget the "wordle" of the day! Frequently, I can't remember the thing within minutes of playing and solving... a good reminder of how trivial the game is... of the people I've quizzed on this subject, quickly forgetting the word is a very common occurrence.

I got a 1/6 once.

My son was playing on his iPad across the table from me, and, without thinking, turned it to face me right after he solved the day’s puzzle.

What else could I do?

Yep. Every day. And I've expanded into about half or the New York Times' other daily games. I like to think of it as keeping my mind sharp. And at my age, it's a good thing.

Yup. My wife and still I do Wordle and online Sudoku daily challenges and compare scores.
It's our daily competition for the championship of the civilized world.

yep - my wife introduced me to it. One daughter (who is away at college), wife and I play it often (not every day but most days).

It's a common small conversation:

" man Wordle was tricky today" "....oh I forgot to do it, lemme go try." "....I got Wordle in three today!"......etcetera.

Little bit of good clean light-hearted fun

We also do the four puzzle version Quordle.

Yes, we have a group text of a dozen or so family members where we post our scores every day. We have added the mini crossword and connections games as well.

Yes, and I finally got my (legit) 1/6 a few weeks back! It'll be my only one ever, as I always use the same seed word.

Yep, us as well.

The mini is my favorite. I love when I can get it in under 30 seconds

It's also really nice to have this group text going with my family, a few friends and neighbors. Usually I find group texts annoying but this one is fun.
