Binding is underway. John was reluctant to do herringbone on a cutaway for aesthetic reasons but I twisted his arm (thanks, John!). The miters on his end graft are insane.

John’s purflings are always dead n*ts on... John describe his job for Dana for many years being a “binding monkey”. John has easily bound > 1,000 guitars!

Oh, I'm serious about this. Yeah, I also like wood bindings. But, I also really like the classic look of celluloid. I love when a buyer and builder have the courage to use this stuff.

That German swirly celluloid on the Brondel is fantastic. We are both huge nitwits for selling that guitar.

Looks like John has finished binding the top and decided to give up on using glue on the back. He's telling me that glued binding is an upcharge. Making it flush with the back is also an upcharge. The cutaway looks weird in the second photo because of the angle of the photo.
