Talent may get you somewhere...character will keep you there.

We are chasing time, time is chasing us.

Character is who you are when no one is looking.

Be yourself...otherwise you’ll be the wrong person, in front of the wrong people, at the wrong time. Besides, everyone else is taken.

Listen more, talk less.

Love always wins.

I think it was poet Maya Angelou....
People will forget what you say, people will forget what you do. But people will never forget the way you made them feel.

Works both ways.

The true measure of a man is how he acts when he's absolutely sure no one will ever know.

The best thing about beating your head against a wall is that it feels so good when you stop.

Best,
PJ

The realization that I actually know far less than I thought I did when I was younger.

One thing I've learned, from a very wise man -

You can't roller skate in a buffalo herd
You can't roller skate in a buffalo herd
You can't roller skate in a buffalo herd
But you can be happy if you've a mind to.

Brush and floss when you are young,
in hindsight those dental cleanings really weren't that expensive.

(ask me how I know)

It's the little things we do repeatedly that make the long term difference in life, health, happiness (even in playing guitar).

Two things that turned my life for the better:
1. Practice active, verbal gratitude. Don't just feel grateful - say it out loud. Often.

2. Things take longer than you think they will. I started out life as a last-minute bell ringer. In my 40's I decided to change this and allow extra time to get to work, appointments, travel, do home projects, etc. This has greatly reduced my stress level. Not sure how much this applies in retirement. I hope to find out in a few years.

Ambition is for those that don't have the guts to be lazy.
