Default Rainsong Nashville - NGD!

Look what showed up right before the holiday on Wednesday!

Apologies for the snowflakes and melt drops in the photos, perhaps I can get better photos once the white stuff stops falling for the day.

This thing is an absolute lesson in contradictions:

1) It's the biggest guitar that Rainsong makes, and yet it's light as a feather and still incredibly comfortable in my lap.

2) As huge as it is, there is a delicacy to the tone and response of this thing. I expected something for big strumming, but it's got that same ability to send fingerpicked notes flying off the soundboard. It can certainly handle being driven hard, but it's not a one-trick pony.

3) Even though it's much larger, it's more balanced than my CH-WS, which is very bassy by comparison. This jumbo is neutral, closer to the OM in overall tone, just MORE of it.

This is my fourth Rainsong, and it's certainly the most unique. Very striking in appearance (you should have heard my wife gasp the first time she saw it). It's my first with the shark inlays up the fingerboard, and the first with the full-size 14-fret N2 neck. Came with a very nice hardshell case from Access that fits like a glove.

Congrats on the new RainSong! Guitar: good; snow: not so much. Might be because I've had my fill of snow... haven't gotten close, yet, on my fill of guitars.

Enjoy!

That paint job really makes it look like a wooden guitar. Very cool!

Very nice, a lifetime of joy with this instrument.

I do agree with AZ on the guard--I'd need something that drops to and a bit below the bridge. I suppose that depends on your play.

In any event, congratulations on an innovative and beautiful guitar.

A all "woodie" would have never been out there in the first place ... prolly hiding scared and unplayed in a closet in some sort of humidity control get up that adds hours of work when it should be played. You know... stuff like that.

The weather outside is frightful,
But these guitars are so delightful
As long as my fingers'll go,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...
