UPS Honesty...
Ok, we've all read the posts about issues with delivery services and black holes that our orders appear to fall in. So when a recent UPS shipped order which was to travel about 85 miles from Richmond to Charlottesville didn't arrive in three days, I was pleasantly surprised to read the following message buried in the "Expanded View" under tracking info:
We've incorrectly sorted this package which may cause a delay. That touch of honesty almost makes the delay worthwhile...

Isn't that great? A little touch of honesty makes it all more tolerable.

I had a UPS employee tell me about a year ago, "your package isn't lost, we just don't know where it is." Had to laugh...it did show up a few days later, they then said, they had placed it on the wrong truck when sending it out for delivery.

Had a pair of Carvin PA speakers get "lost" for almost a month once.
Yes - honesty and transparency go a long way.

It's probably because I'm around a lot of shipping and receiving but I don't generally go with lots of complaints about UPS, FedEx and USPS. I wish lots of other institutions and organizations I deal with would do as good a job overall.
