Never get less than 10 hours of sleep, never play cards with a man who has the same name as a city, and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger anywhere on her body.

Sixty six here. A few things I've learned that has made my life much easier.
1. Folks are not going to do what you think they should do. 2. Everybody is the world's greatest authority on their own opinion. 3. The only person you can ever hope to change is yourself. |

I'm 69. I also just realized I enlisted in the Navy 51 years ago. Anyway...
If I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself. Just because they make it in your size doesn't mean you should wear it. If you don't have to stand up, sit down. You don't know the next time you will be able to. Hindi malaking bagay. From my late Dad, the aerospace engineer: Better is the natural enemy of good enough.

Three gems from my Dad now 22 years gone:
1-Growing old is not for the faint of heart. 2-The only enjoyment you'll ever get out of life is what you do for others. 3- I'll believe in a "May-December Romance" when December is poor! At 63 I think he was right on all counts...

If a man starts a sentence, "I told my wife", and the next words out of his mouth aren't, "Yes dear", "You're right", "I'm listening" or "I'm sorry", quit listening. He's already opened w/one lie; who knows how many more he'll tell...

-your memories of past events more than not, are inaccurate
-people's behaviors are the worst when large sums of money are involved -be less rigid in your views, usually there is a valid counterpoint -when you think you have mastered something, there is always more to learn Gabe |

We went to a small jam session at a friends flat (Apartment) on Sunday afternoon.
I take a smaller guitar, but mostly play dobro and mando. A non muso wife came along so mine host suggested she sat on his Cajon (don't) and showed her where to strike it. This is what I learnt/remembered .... "NEVER GIVE ANY SORT OF PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT TO SOMEONE WHO ISN'T A MUSICIAN !!!! Why do people think that they can play percussion with no sense of time or rhythm? Ugh!
