Default Who was the best James Bond?

For me, it was Rodger Moore. As a kid, I couldn't get enough 007!

I read somewhere there will be another one out in November with Daniel Craig.

For me growing up it was Sean Connery. He'll always be Bond to me. But I really like Daniel Craig too. His Bond films are darker, which I like.

I used to think it was Sean Connery until Daniel Craig took the part. Now I think he's the best Bond. I was never happy with Roger Moore, he's a good actor but I always thought they played his Bond films as too tongue-in-cheek.

I grew up with Roger Moore so he certainly is my favorite. I’m not a real big Bond fan so I never actually saw Sean Connery as Bond until last year. He certainly set the mold! I’ve recently caught up with Daniel Craig as Bond and he’s fantastic in the role! Those are my top three!

Connery and Craig.

An interesting fact I learned just the other day. I always assumed that Connery’s casting was partly because he is Scottish - Ian Fleming mentions James Bond’s Scottish heritage in one or two of the books.

As it turns out, apparently Fleming wrote this in to the books because Connery was Scottish!

I saw Sean Connery in Dr. No when I was a kid so he remains the REAL JAMES BOND in my mind. Those other guys are just actors. Same thing with Tarzan - Johnny Weissmuller was THE Tarzan...

Sean Connery. Remakes always seem sleazy to me. It's a little like who was your favorite first lover.

Impossible to answer for me.

Connery was fun without being silly.

Craig is awesome without any fun whatsoever.

So what do you want from your bond movies? I liked the crazyness of the Connery movies. Suddenly there's a 6'4" weird looking Japanese guy in a small fishing village and nobody notices? Connery's your man! You want the sociopath it would take to be Bond IRL? Craig.

They are my #1 and #2 for sure.

It depends on my mood. Both Connery and Moore play Bond with a good mix of action, adventure, drama sprinkled with fun lighthearted moments. But sometimes I’m in the mood for some gritty no-nonsense action and then Craig is my choice.

I wonder if the trend in gritty dark movies will swing the other way, and if so, I wonder how bond will be portrayed?
