Default I picked up a New Taylor Guitar

Hello, I just wanted to report that I picked up a new Taylor guitar this past week. It’s a Taylor 412ce and the difference between it and my first guitar are lights out different. Taylor was recommended to me because of how low the actions are. I’m finding it much easier to do bar chords.
Just need to keep practicing so I can keep progressing.

Congratulations! That is a very nice guitar and you should get years of enjoyment from it. Did you get one with Ovangkol or EIR?

Congratulations! Taylors are a great entry into the wider world of well-crafted (and more expensive, unfortunately ) guitars. I remember my first "serious" guitar, my Lakewood M32 which was a custom order...but now seems like a value at $1650 in 2003...it played and sounded so much better than anything hanging up in the guitar center wall around that price (yes I took it in to one when I received it) and definitely miles better than anything in the sub-$1000 range at the time.

Taylors are very well known for their ease of playability and being set up pretty well by the factory. As long as the dealer knows what they're doing in terms of proper temp and humidity, any Taylor I've picked up at a store has had good action and great playability.

Congrats and enjoy in good health!

Congrats! My first Taylor was an ovangkol 414ce from 2001 and it saw lots of play time and gigs before being sold last spring (downsizing, not at all unhappy with it). The 400 series is a sweet spot for price/performance in the Taylor line.

You are in Michigan where I grew up. Did this one come from Elderly??

DHosinski, congrats on your new Taylor! Comfort and ease of play are so important as you're finding out. You have a guitar that you can take on your 'journey'.

I’ve tried lots of guitars from martin, gibson to some boutique ones like collings, santa cruz, and burgeois. For fingerstyle I would say Taylor sounds so good and sparkle. They sound lovely. I love my taylors. The reason why is their treble side is very pronounced so when I play taylor guitars it keeps singing the notes. It’s not bass heavy so the guitar sounds very clear and bright and give me relax feelings. They also work for light touch. I would give 8/10 for strumming on a Taylor. They are loud and has bass but the notes dont blend in so well. Notes on Taylor Guitars are separated and very articulate. They are responsive so if you make mistake when play it pronouces clearer than other guitar... just my 2 cents

I’ve had Taylor guitars, and although they are not totally my particular cup of tea...I must say that their fit/finish & ease of playability are probably second to none. Congratulations on your new 412ce. It’s a great body size, and very comfortable. No doubt you’ll enjoy it for a long time.

Great choice, whether it's the ovangkol or rosewood. I have one that is rosewood, no cutaway, and absolutely love it. Came with Elixir PB HD Lights, and after some fiddlin' with string gauges, found that gauge really sounds the best on it.

Congrats on the new Taylor. They're great guitars, and the 2 Taylors I have (a 150e and an AD27) are fantastic guitars.
