Default RIP Justin Townes Earle

No details out yet on his death as of this writing, but I’m saddened by this. I loved his talent, his songs, and his guitarplaying. When he performed with just him and a guitar, it was always special.

You’ll be missed!

Very sad news. I have all his albums and saw him live twice. RIP, Justin,

Well...Crap...just Crap...what a tragedy and loss at his age...

I've been a huge fan of JTE from the first time I heard him, and I love watching him perform...

He was a gifted singer/songwriter and guitar player...when he played, it sounded like 2 guitars were playing, and he had a fantastic sense of rhythm...

I've actually been watching a bunch of his videos this week, and trying to catch on to his playing style...

My condolences to his family and loved ones...

I'll miss his talent and presence in my little part of the music world...

I'm a big fan.

Met him in a Sam Ash on the north side of Nashville. He was just sitting there playing guitar, enthused. I was picking up a Takamine.

Saw him live a couple of times. Always a good show.

RIP.

Default RIP Justin Townes Earle

I haven't seen this mentioned here yet, but yesterday we lost a dang good songwriter. I never met Justin personally, but he did spend a lot of time in this area of the country and one of my best friends was his writing partner for a while. Even lived in Steve's house with Justin and soaked up a lot of music. I'm thinking a lot about the Earle family today as I know this is a devastating loss for them.

I'd not heard of him, but sorry to hear a talented young man lost his life so soon. I feel for his family and anyone left behind.

Thanks for the Tiny Desk clip above, it was good stuff.

Always sad when we lose a musician so young ... and at 38 he had many more stories left to tell. RIP Justin.

That was my initial thought - I heard he had drug abuse problems in the past. Even sadder.
